It's not just about realism for DPC. This has a strong sense of "style," whatever that is, and that appeals to voters.

Jeb - I keep meaning to come back and comment on this - I'm very pleased to see that this processing on this shot did well. It very much suits the image and what I think you were trying to convey. Well done!

hey jeb .. BRILLIANT .. !!
this has such personality .. so much more than the spick and span, highly sharp photographs that most ppl go ape over .. i love your photograph and i love your processing .. something different and very very excellent .. :)
i just read your processing steps .. i thought you'd used some filter to give a nearly painted look to your photograph .. BUT YOU DIDNT .. !! .. WOW .. !!

A lovely photo that looks like an oil painting but just too hard to see a boat (for me anyway).

Post-processing to perfection. You have captured in digital format what I think Monet might have painted if he saw this image. You have met my personal rule of processing...if you do it, go all the way to create something unexpected. Thank you!

Lovely, dreamy effect here that makes me feel the boat is going to magically shed its confining vines and sail through the forest. Maybe with fairies aboard.
