Processed from RAW in ACR, then CS3 w/ shadow/highlight, for pseudo tone-mapping effect. Some hue/sat, resize, sharpen, border, save for web

This is a bit of a test case... I find it odd that "tone mapping" is not allowed in basic, but we can use shadow/highlight in Photoshop CS, which can accomplish essentially the same thing. So I processed the snot out of this, to prove my point. Not that it matters, but...

I like the character, the angle, and the lighting of this portrait. I think it would have been very interesting without the heavy PP. As is, I find the PP distracting.

I have mixed feelings about this... my first reaction was "scary" .. I think it would work much better in b&w with all the highlight/shadow editing done to it.. just my humble opinion

A good honest capture, but the processing strikes me as a bit harsh.

Too sharp, very unflattering. Roughness has become the subject.

Tone mapping if that is what this is should really be used spareingly. His face looks oversaturated and has a drama that is not supported by the pose.

It's always difficult to tell with your own image whether or not you've taken the post-processing too far - for me the HDR treatment is really overdone and gives the image a very unnatural feel.

I believe this is oversharpened.

Hey good subject, fine shot, good comp - but for me you've overdone the effect!

Great shot. Much character in the face. The skin looks slightly unnatural-- possibly oversharpened? (still a great shot, just strikes me as a little over-textured)

Overprocessed. It would have been better left natural.

I think the HDR look is a little much in this image. It's almost scary.
