Just replaced my original entry with this one which I shot today, processed and uploaded with about 5 minutes to spare to rollover. It will probably get hammered and be lucky to make 5's! hehe : )

===========================================

Well I gotta admit I was so surprised with the reaction to this shot, thank you all so much for the wonderful comments and especially the six faves during the challenge, that just blew me away and absolutely made my week!! : ) : )

==============================================

outtake
I only shot these about an hour before rollover then rushed home, downloaded and only had enough time to process one. I'm not quite sure which I like better...

Just because I don´t shoot street photograpy myself doesn´t mean I don´t enjoy it, this is also bloody brilliant, the composition is spot on!

I knew this was yours, wearing your inconspicuous 14 ft platform shoes to get just the right angle you love so much. That or you are in fact the Batman.
Great light coming through. In my book anytime you can break a 6 with a street photography shot in a FS it is a huge success. I think you entering consistently excellent street work has opened up many voters to the skill involved. Congrats on the great finish.

You, e301 and pawdrix were 3 of my top 6 votes in this challenge. Like I told pawdrix, I seem to be in love with a style that is so far away from my own. This is a brilliant image (much stronger than your outtake IMO). Congrats on the great score.

I don't think this got hammered too badly. And sorry about calling you Ed at first - I figured it was either him or you. Later I decided it was probably you. Love this. Thanks for entering it. :-)

The tonal value seems a bit off.

The whites are not there yet, and the blacks are a bit deep.

However, this is a great example of story telling.

Nicly done.

Remarks: one might say that part of the magic is simply trouvée, another due to happenstance and lens, but to see and, presumably quickly, assemble the contradictions into such classic sense, that is quite admirable.
