Printed out a periodic table off web, copied it bigger onto 11X17 paper and clipped that to front of softbox with SB-25 inside at 1/32 power to create backlit background. Front illumination from SB-25 @ 1/2 with Pringles single-pack diffuser! Both fired with Ebay radio triggers. Post: Cropped slightly, adjusted levels and saturation a little, USM.

Oh, the colors are fantastic and the shapes are great.

The blue liquid with the bubbles is a really attractive subject and the entire picture illustrates the concept of Chemistry really well. The inclusion of the periodic table is a nice extra to add more emphasis to the theme and is a subtle but nice addition to the shot.

The blown highlights on the background do let this photo down a bit I'm afraid, so overall I give this a 5.

Nice detail. I would have used a different background.

Would've loved if the periodic tables were clearer. Also it feels like the background is lit a lot more/better than the foreground.

Good image. I like how you background is immediately recognizable, but not distracting from the foreground.

good composition, nice DOF, the bubbles in test tube are slightly motion blurred. overall the image is a bit dull and greyish

the placement of the periodic table in the background is a good idea - i liek the bubbles in the test tube but i am not a big fan of the use of colored water type science shots

it seems to me that the lighting on the hand could be a bit better

although the background works for the challenge, it's a bit too bright for me - perhaps the lighting. Sorry.

nice DOF but lots of test tube shots to compete with in this competition - hard to distinguish a best among them

I like the tube with the bubbles and the color. To me the background seems a bit too bright though. The composition is good.

morethan a highkey it looks overexposed...it does fit the challenge though..

Wonderful! The periodic chart just adds even more to a fabulously thought out image.

back lighting has put the main subjects in the shadows, but great idea, and good composition.
