 I originally was trying the shot where you have the plant growing in the bulb. I got it to work but frankly only came up with dorky results which didn't add anything to the genre. Then I came up with this idea when goofing around with the props (originally the flower was a "rising sun" behind the bulb).

The trick is very easy. I used a long exposure which would allow for movement to blur and erase black objects. I then merely held my big black flashlight behind the bulb for 2 of the 10 second exposure, turned it off, and moved it out of the way. It hardly showed up on the picture as a faint blur which I cloned out.

I can't believe they came out with a Light Bulb speed challenge after I entered this one. :P I toyed with reshooting and entering it there, but I don't really have time and I like this for Green. We'll see if the Speed Challenge helps or hinders.

This is very slickly done, but as there is a concept and message to back up the "eye candy", I give this top honors for the Green challenge.

Cute, cute idea.. would have been great for the lightbulb challenge, just can't get my head around which idea you were going for (reduce, reuse, recycle) Still love the shot! 6
