 It's been raining all day - this shot of a Magnolia bud was taken during a brief pause in the April Showers raining down all day. Five minutes either way and I would have missed the shot.

Hand held. Adjusted levels, saturation, added small border, neatimage, resized, USM.

Serendipity is a difficult concept to visualize. For me it means being at the right place, at the right time, and being lucky enough to capture something unique. Some of these entries are set up shots trying to illustrate that concept, and some record a serendipitous moment experienced by the photographer themselves. This is a lovely shot, but it doesn't seem to be unusal or unique enough to be very serendipitous.

Lighting is a bit harsh but I like the DOF and grainy appearance very much.

The pink really makes this photo a success. Unfortunately, there seems to be too much digital manipulation, it no linger looks real. Pretty, but I think I'd probably like the unedited version better.

Subject and DOF are all fine with this image. Framing is particularly good. Noise reduction and color adjustments would have improved this image dramatically. Digital haloing, particularly on the stem, is a distraction. Looks like it may have been oversharpened.

This is a really good shot. I like the contrast between the stem / background and the very vivid bud. But is it relevant to the theme of Serendipity? Not so much in my mind.

nice macro here, the white edges on the stem and the rotation of this image bothers me a little, very obvious the waterdrops flowing to the left here - 7

Beautiful shot. Like the hue/saturation adjustments you have made to bring the blossom out. Connection with "serendiptiy" is a little tenuous. 7.

Outrageous color. Interesting texture. Great depth of field. Nice--but does it really say "serendipity"? Perhaps context (other than in the title) would help.
