Part of a photo shoot for Baylor University.

Thanks for the kind words. I agree, the PP work isn't quite perfected in this shot. The tonal relationships in particular are a bit off and the last letter in the background should have been fixed.

The voting on this entry was most unusual. First 60+ votes it was over 7 then dropped to 6.6 at 100 votes only to make a late push back to 7 and got as close as 6.9980 with just a few hours left in voting but it couldn't quite get there.

I somehow missed this 1st time through. VERY good capture! After being involved with cheerleading for over two years, I know what a difficult shot this truly is. Congrats on a fine entry and terrific score.

actually, I think the reason why I like this is b/c it really reminds of a shot I took in college, here. Hah, well i mean, same sort of theme anyway.

This image captures lots of 'spirit', action, movement, and is also quite 'emotive' to view.

A 'moment in time' frozen, and captured for us to see.

Well done Richard.

11th place isn't a bad spot to be. I still think this is a fantastic image and the processing is perfect in my mine. Outstanding man, just outstanding.

Hey! You're around my neck of the woods! Well at least my family's old neck of the woods. This shot is really awesome. I think you're right that some little tweaks could make it even better, but it's great as is. The focus is phenomenal, and the moment evokes a lot of energy and emotion. I really like this!

i thought it should have been higher on the board. Personally, I like the right side and I like that its blown out a bit. It gives it an odd balance that works. Looking at it again, the smoothness is a little much on the skin. First time I saw it, I liked that part of it but now looking again it seems a tad over done. Congrats on your 11th place. Should have been higher though.

Oh so close to the star.Great pic. I like the action, the positioning of the cheerleader, and the smooth effect. This is great processing. I really need to know how to get the shiny effect on the skin. PLs share.

I thought this one was so cool. I think it was the action captured and the processing that made it stand out. Great shot.

Great catch. I like the post processing. I'm very picky when it comes to the smoothness effect of noise reduction but it works for me in this shot.

Nice action catch, good composition and lighting, though the processing has left her looking a little plastic.

almost looks like an ad. Usually I don't like when details of the skin are removed too much. But I have to admit, itlooks good in this photo. congrats

AWESOME!!! just a great capture. I would love to know how you got "the look" of this photo. A couple little things that catch my eye. The heel on her left shoot is very blown out (but I love the effect on the shoe laces) and it looks like some of the printing on the wall has been edited out!? I wonder if this was intentional or not? If you could shoot me a PM with the details on the edit and if was correct or not about the printing edit I would be very appreciative. As I am trying to work on details myself.
A very worthy 10 from me for an awesome capture and edit.
Best of luck. Scott

Very good. I like the processing. I'm not sure the subject is in the best position in the frame though.

Some may think this a bit on the overprocessed side, but I think it works very well the way it's processed. Very nice work.

Love the captured pose and the story it tells. Maybe a bit too much noise reduction on the legs and arm? Just a nit pic. I love the image.

I really like the composition and lighting. Its a tad over-edited for my taste but you still did an expert job. You should sell this to Baylor.

Nice stop actions! Great muscle definition on the cheerleader! I'm not too thrilled with the composition. It would be better if she was jumping into the frame instead of seeming like she is about to exit it.

This is an excellent capture! I really hope that you're a university photographer, or at least work for the school, because they've got to love this shot. I work freelance for a university and know that they'd just about kill for a shot like this. Some might wish her face were visible, but I like it as it is - the motion and energy of it is captured very well. 10

I like this. The sheen on her legs and arms and abdomen is a little much, shows lots of processing.

Nicely done! I think a bit less smoothing would be better - maybe smooth and then add noise after even. But it is definitely cool.
