This is my son Jonathan in a box. He was a great model to work with on this shot. Sitting in that box isn't as easy as it might sound. I'm really hoping to get a 6+ on this one.

Ok... I just realized that about 5 years ago this was among my selections in the "Pick your fav image from the person above you" side challenge. This week I had the realization that "picking a favorite" should have included a comment about why. So I've been back over the last 1600+ posts to make amends for my omission.

Although it looks like you've not be active for awhile, here's my belated comment:

This is funny and touching at the same time. Kids are certainly fragile animals and you have represented the idea so creatively. Kudos to you and your model. And... it holds up well to time. This exercise of mine (returning to view an image after several years) confirms my appreciation of your photo.

Thanks for all the comments! I'm really happy to be in the top ten. My photography is like my golf game. 30 or 40 horrible shots with one great one that keeps me coming back!

Congrats on the top 10. I'm sorry that I had the police come talk to you about this. I didn't realize that you really don't make your kids live in boxes. It was an honest mistake. Still friends?

I love the sepia used to create a more monotone feel. I love this photo. 10 from me.

You've sent my mind off on several different tangents with this one, especially with the title. Very nicely conceived and executed.

I like this. There is humor, interest, depth even a little thought required on my part. Well done.

This picture is so... well, it's so... it has inspired me to write a Haiku for you...

Very cool, despite being another kid shot. Having obscured most of the child, and having done such a damn fine job with the rest of the image, I have no choice but to vote this into my 3rd place selection for the challenge.
