Zoneplate strikes again!

hmmm...on second thought, the title seems a tad overwrought, but it's the best I had at the time.

Hey, that's an intriguing image. And my daughter just wandered by and said "that's pretty." :)

I don't totally understand this whole Zone Plate thingy (have not read enough yet) but I do know that this is a FABU photo! Gorgeous.

Zone Plate Photography

for Karen

I am eating Eggs Diavolo on the patio. Hungry bees
are brushing the hotplate peonies. Ice cubes
merely refract the excruciating intimacy of the sun.

Glare is an old story: the violence of light. Tell me
about the light that caresses, bending softly around
an object in a delicate crescent, like a wave in a pool

made by an insect’s leg. Give me only this gentle light
upon my Charge-Coupled Device. Let my photoelectric sensors
dotingly record each rise and fall, like an historian

of dandelion spores, with compound eyes
and wings of powdered paper, ecstatic for the touch
that doesn’t harrow me or hijack my flight.

I knew I recognized this image when I stumbled across it again today! I gave you a 9, by the way. I just love the soft blues. Sent you a PM about the zone plate. :)

Oooh, I like this very much! It sort of sucks you in, swallows you into some abyss, almost as though you are drowning, but without fear and pain.
