I just saw this, following the Portrait without Children thread. I love it almost as much as the Morning one! And Art's comment almost had me rolling on the floor. I'm trying to come up with a way to do something similar sometime.

I am really quite surprised this did not finish higher. I love the humor in the facial expression, the strong contrast used, the choice of objects to be held (the cat is what seals it for me). Great work again..one of my favorites for the top spot.

Oreck huh?
Left out one important part - your curlers!
I knew we'd be neck & neck based on the thread, but thought I'd be on the other side of you.
Next time you can be on top. (did I actually say that?)

You left out a few steps:
1) Pick up cat.
2) Bend over to pick up vacuum, letting cat escape
3) Try to pick up cat while holding vacuum, lose slipper
4) Hold tightly onto cat and vacuum, slide foot gently into slipper and shuffle to the door.

Congrats on the high score! :)

I want a little more detail in all that starkness. On my screen, for example, your head seems to end at your hairline, with your hair totally gone in the black.
08/11/2008 01:04:14 AM
Oops, saw this on your Flickr page earlier this evening. Normally I would skip a vote on such a shot, but as a self portrait, it's not anonymous anyway. (Many of the entries in this challenge will be far from anonymous!)

A really successful illustration of an idea. Not a "wow" shot, but then, it was not meant to be one. I'm weary of housework just from looking at this! My only quibble is the noticeable skew. Good job.
