I had no intention of entering this challenge till I read this
so if I bomb, I can hold Leo FocusPoint personally responsible for goading me into it and will belt him with my dpc hat!
Apart from that, I don't mind if Art Roflmao wins all three ribbons ;-) Go, Ken, go!

Thanks so much for the helpful comments and the great score.

This isn’t a semi-desat (definitely not allowed in basic). I printed out a b/w cloudy sky pic and taped it to the kitchen wall. Placed the Woody in front of it and dripped water from a syringe onto his hand.
I wanted to get a really good splash on his hand but have the rest of him dry. This was more difficult than I thought it would be. The water sprayed from his hand all over the rest of him and the hand and arm becoming more and more saturated with water, which looked terrible.
Finally on the third evening I had a brain wave. I cut out a piece of cellotape and stuck it onto the flat part of his hand. This stopped the water from seeping into the wood so quickly and gave a much better splash. Also the hand/arm didn’t darken.
I blow dryed him with my hairdryer between each shot (can’t believe I’m
writing this (in fact, I can’t believe I did it ;-D
Mark-A commented that a mocked up newspaper in the hand over his head would have been better. Great idea, I’ll keep it in mind for any future Woody challenges.
For fir3bird: I do the splashes by hand. Always.

If you look at the drip below his hand and invert it, you can see it has a sort of humanoid shape - a head and two arms with the elbows held to the sides. I think you've found something we could call a "Waterie". ;-Þ ;-Þ

Great shot, by the way, and congrats on 4th place.

LOL - a classic Irene shot meets the Woody challenge and kicks ass as usual! Well not mine or Rina's or William's, but everyone elses dammit. :) Congrats on fourth and THANKS to Leo for goading you and THANKS to you for dumbing it down just enough to allow some of us others to win a ribbon.

I like Mark's suggestion about the newspaper, but I think you should also curl up the edges and light it just right as well - curled paper AND water - nobody will even notice the woody. :)

Very nicely done! The desat on the sky works well and the timing on the drops of water is perfect.

This is my favourite. I don't care how cliche some people think waterdrops are, this is great!

The pose looks a little strange although I suspect the right hand is covering the head from the onslaught of rain? a mocked up newspaper or similar would have emphasised this if so.

I would have liked to see more realistic rain drops (ie not one stream of water maybe the use of a spray head from a watering can would have allowed accurate enough positioning without the single line of water drops.
