Hi everyone. Thanks for leaving your comments. Having a few hours left before rollover and my initial idea not fitting for basic (outtake below). Wasn't well prepared for that, so I decided to shoot something totally different. Initial idea/concept was to have the ducky protected from the water in it's little apartment. First title idea was 'blowing bubbles' but antigravity fit well, and it was short and sweet. I wanted to get that inital splash of water in, when a container is empty. The curving swirl.

It was fun reading comments on how folks thought this was done. But the trick was in the pour and I didn't have to invert anything. The set, camera or the photo. After each pour I had to wipe dry/clean the little glass container. Also, flash power set to the lowest possible 1/128. Alas I have no flashes anymore but it was fun to try and get some shots done with decent lighting. And I highly recommend the use of two units. Back to my old ways now. This photo was also specifically shot for the DPC Olympics going on. But I'm quite happy to have this in my portfolio. I was going for something artsy and/or with a concept. I have some nitpicks with it, pertaining to the surface not being uniform and the little white reflection speck on the duck.

And yes, my ducky has a little hair do hehe.

Now coming back to comment. How the?!?!?!?! Hmmm, gonna take a guess but first the critique. Love the black and white for it really calls attention to the silhouette and the 'airdome' and bubbles. Color would have probably been a distracting element. Good choice to go with the B&W. Love the crispness of details we see of the bubbles and the 'sparkling' water adorning the side of the bowl the ducky is contained in. Tones are nice and dynamic. Now, my guess is that you accomplished this visual illusion by gluing the duck down to the bottom of the bowl and then turning it upside down. The bowl is then placed it in a fish tank filled with water. The bubbles are air bubbles escaping out of the bowl as water rushes in the side. The image I would guess was flipped to make it look like the bottom of the bowl is rightside up. That is my guess. Even though I have a guess how this visual illusion was created it is still an above average composition that was executed well and very creative.
