Challenge: The Road Less Traveled (Basic Editing)
Collection: Challenges
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Location: Harwich Port, MA
Date: Aug 26, 2008
Aperture: f/8
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/60
Date Uploaded: Aug 26, 2008

From RAW with ACR to CS3, shadow/highlight, levels, hue/sat, resize, sharpen, border, save for web

I hate doing this sort of image at this file size: 40% JPG, fa cripesake...

And I know it's boring, but this is one of my all-time favorite poems and I just WANT to be literal, plus I love backlit forest canopies....

IMO this is a trifle over worked

Ah, the HDR or Lucisarts doesn't seem to have helped here. The composition is a bit uninspiring.

Wow, I think you are the only other person to reference the poem (except for me that I can tell [and my photo is doing very poorly even though it looks like Robert 'FROST' and is more not taken then less traveled] but that doesn't matter) and you've done an EXCELLENT job! I love it, the processing and subject are perfect. I'll have to score it a 10 and I hope it gets a ribbon.

I like the scene but to me the over processing just does not do the image justice. Some of the leaves also look like they are over exposed especially the ones towards the top of the image.

Processed and sharpened to the point of not looking like a photo anymore, but it works for this scene.

very nice color in the sky to match the shadows on the road, looks almost like an illastration (sp)?

This looks a little oversaturated.... I'd be intrested to see this as a b&w, rather than the extreme colour.

OH, YES, ROBERT FROST! EXCELLENT COMPOSITION. YOUR OVERUSE OF EITHER SATURATION OR SHADOWS/HIGHLIGHTS IS A LITTLE ON THE TOO MUCH GREEN SIDE. BUT, I LOVE YOUR DEPICTION OF THE CHALLENGE TITLE...AND OF COURSE, THE QUOTE FROM FROST.

I have to imagine you are getting "over processed" comments. I have to disagree...I love the way this image is done, very nice. Hope you do well.

Ouch on the processing (I should know, having overcooked a few recent entries myself).
