The Image: A photographer/pastor friend of mine flies over our beautiful city about 4 or 5 times a month to photograph for property developers...he is amazing! He called me to see if I wanted to go along. Are you kidding me?!!! Try and stop me!

The weather was perfect and we were up in the air for a mere 35 minutes, which felt like 3. I took about 300 images, most of which are amazing, but this one struch me for its 3D look, some of which I bought out in the editing.

I will go up again and again...

The Edit: B and W, Levels, USM, a gaussian blur layer which I masked, some d and b and blurring. Contrast, and other minor tweaks that I can't remember.

The Prediction: I hope mid sixes, but you never know...it could go either way. Some voters will criticise the border and others the blur, but the effect looks 3D to me, almost miniature, and that's what I like about it.

Post: Actually, I was a bit disappointed with where this finished. I like the miniature look, but I guess many voters probably thought, well, I don't know what they thought. I got some amazing shots that day, pity we could only enter one.

Yep, I thought so. :) This should have scored higher though! I love it!

I like it too! We have an aerial photographer who takes photos of a development my company owns. I have wanted to ask him if I could go up with him next time. This inspires me to do it. Course. . . San Antonio is not very metropolitan and exotic like this is tho.

I think it is fabulous!

I'm not in love with the border on this one. I like the strong contrast, however would have liked it more if there was more depth of field in the front and back.

Wow, nice shot. I'm assuming the DOF was added in post-processing, but it looks cool, like it is a photo of a tiny model city. Hey, wait, I recognise some landmarks there, and the photographic style fits...hello hotpasta. :)

Trying out the twist-lift effect? You've done it well. I must try it when I've got an expansive enough cityscape to photograph.

This almost looks like a miniature or scale model of a city.

Wow must have taken you months to build this. ;]

Very well done miniaturization of this city shot. I once did an amusement park near here and sent it to a friend. Next day at work he congratulated me on my craftsmanship and my patience for building models like that. He flipped when I told him it was photoshop.

Nice faux tilt-shift. Good choice on the duotone processing. Is this a real city? I can't figure out which one.

I like the distinctness of the middle portion. The city seems miniature, very well done.

That looks like a little diorama! Nice work, a little crooked?

Love your processing and how you made this look like a miniature city. I've tried this before but never had the right photo to make it work this well.

Too bad for this processing, this had promise.
