First off... YES... the circuit board is a little blurry... this pic has EXTREMELY shallow depth of field... i tightened up the aperture a bit to get it a bit more in focus, then took another 100 pics, but I could not duplicate this drop... i figured that since the drop was the main feature, that it should be perfect... parts of the circuit board are DEAD ON in focus so I figured that it would do =)

This was a Picture that I have been DIEING to take!!! I have seen it done before by eyewave so I have to give him credit for the idea =)

I barely have enough time to enter all the other challenges so there has been no time for my own picture topics... I spent three days thinking of a pic for this challenge... I wanted to do something with the movie 'Number 23'... I went out and bought it and started making a setup... but half way through, I realized that it would not be as good as I had envisioned, so I scrapped it and then thought of just a drip with numbers, but which numbers? Why not Binary number? ones and zeros??? I tried it with just the faucet but that was too boring... Eventually I thought of using an old laptop or keyboard, but when I got close enough to see the drop, you couldn't see that it was a keyboard... then... AH Ha!!! why not a circuit board??? ... well, what has a VERY tiny circuit board with tiny components that will look big in a close-up pic??? A Cell Phone!!! i took apart Three old ones and found the perfect board... then I taped it to the faucet, got a tiny drip going (harder than you think...) , put the pic of numbers upside down behind and shot away... it took a good several hundred shots... yea... it takes that many to get it perfect... I used my D50 with SB-800 on an SC-29 Cord with a Garry Fong Light Sphere to light from the side, and I used my old Nikon 55mm f/3.5 that I purchased off of ebay WITH a nikon FM film camera for $30... =) it's a VERY sharp lens...

How will this do? Honestly, I can't tell... it depends on the other entries... if it gets a 5.7 or higher it will make my top 5 and that will put a big smile on my face =)

ok, here are some setup Pics...

Sorry everyone, i just made the setup pics visible, thanks for all the amazing comments!!!

Thank you for the set up pics. It helps a lot to see that you can ribbon with the kinds of messy kitchen set-ups that my family thinks I'm crazy for trying.
Great job!

Nice capture, how many times did you have to shoot it to get this shot. Maybe crop some of the white off the bottom IMO.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't. Thought I'd get that in before everybody else does.

Very clever, very nicely shot. 7

Excellent! Knew there would be a water drop somewhere in this challenge, but you used it in a great way. A fave and an early 9 for this one.
