Location: River Heights, Utah USA

This is a road that actually does lead to my down, which you can see down below. My house is on the right side of the image, behind some trees!

Autocolor, then changed to b/w using the channel mixer (Photoshop). I cloned out a small tree that was getting just a bit too much attention in the center. Fiddled with levels, then resized, added a very slight sepia and sharpened.

WOW

You know, I didn't even THINK about making this one in color. But I looked at the original file, and it looks pretty good. I also found that this did in fact look a bit dark on some screens. My screen at home must be better than my screen at work.

Again, thanks for comments, your suggestions for improvement really help!

I knew it was yours! Truly a vintage dsidwell. I thought that this would finish in the top ten but 11 is not bad.

Gave this a 10, superbe composition, 11 is not a bad place but I wish it done better. Congratz!

Dang -- I swore this would be Top 10 material in my original comment, and I was quite sure of myself! Frankly I would have expected this to be in the Top 3, let alone Top 10! It's an awesome shot -- should be hanging on a wall someplace.

DANG! I'd have thought they'd have paved a way to the Sidwell house by now! (NICE leading lines - draws the eye right in!) Love those little clouds as well!

Nice view, but it really needs more light. There does not seem to be many clouds in the sky, so I am going to guess it is how you wanted it.

The road takes you into the picture. Good job. The contrast is just spot on and the composition as well. The space above the montains is just right.

Very beautiful scene/composition and tone. It shows a great deal of depth. I like how that path leads the eye to the city and then to the mountains. A really great photo.

Hope to see you in the top ten :)

Great work, keep it up...

Undoubtedly a contender -- Top 10 material for sure! I like how the road leads you right to the town and to the mountains. Quite a scene!

A very good photograph in my opinion. The foreground is just a bit dark for me but not by much…7

Lovely use of the curved path to lead into the background and provide interest. Black and white works very well for this image.

I think this would have been at least one point higher if it were in color

I'd like to see a little more detail in this shot....it's just a bit too dark for my tastes. I also think the border is too heavy (thick) for it.

Utah? Humm, stunning shot. Nothing I don't like about it. Very good. Bravo.

Interesting road, great contrast. Might be a tad too grainy though.
