 I came up with this idea after some brainstorming. I used a mister on one of the many wolf spider lairs in a bush. The sun was just setting which added a nice bit of glow and bokeh.

I wanted to try to convey the idea that in a phobia your mind cannot grasp entirely why you fear the object, just that it must. (So I wound up using that as the title). Although the picture is beautiful with the bright colors and circles of confusion, the phobic would not care and merely fear the object.

hmm I thought this would have scored higher. I am not a big fan of bug pics but this is quite beautiful and almost entrancing. I found it interesting that a yucky bug could live in such a pretty place ;)

I am not a bug picture kinda guy, and not a spider kinda guy either--but this is a spectacularly well done image, bright and beautiful--almost a celebration. Luminous color and perfect bokeh. Re-viewing leads me to bump from a 7 to a 9. (and I am also starting to itch here and there, dang it!)

I don't like the black space in the top right corner. It doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the image.

This is a fantastic shot, well photographed, interesting, meets the abstract part of the challenge - my only quibble would be a simpler title such as "fear" - great job!
