The colour, the composition and the textures here are all gorgeous. The soft focus works really well for me. This is a very intense image. It would be interesting to see some variations on the hue/saturation of this photo, with all kinds of bizarre colour combinations. A collage of them would be really neat :).

How on earth did you know this thing would light up like this under a blacklight?? Pretty cool. lhall

Wow that's a cool photo. It almost looks animated. Is this one of those rare white scorpions with a blacklight shining on it? I give it a 9 - vw4lyfe

A little sharper focus would've went a long way on this one. - Inspzil

Is this a real live scorpian? I like the angle of the shot. Could have been crisper

too blurry for my taste, but that tone of blue is great.

IMHO it is not recommendable to present an image out of focus. When having such an obvious basic problem, you can only expect comments on that, and we miss the rest of your content.

very nicely done.

Great effect. A bit more focus and it would have scored a few points higher. 6

Might have been more effective if the subject had been in better focus. Interesting effect and composition is nice.

If the focus was sharper (it looks soft or blurry to me), this would be an awesome shot. I like the idea. karmat

great idea, too bad not clearer. good luck

Focus? Is that from camera movement? Did you have a tripod? Or is it light scatter? (Don't ask me- I'm a beginner and I'm just asking)

I heard that these guys lit up under a black light...just never seen it before. nice capture. the scary thing is, I really believe he's real. ew! creepy. Love the angle and framing/cropping you have chosen here. love the source of light. works perfectly. Your focus is very nice as well. Good thing he wasn't moving fast. Nice shot. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~

Wow... this is a great shot - You definitely captured a unique way of using a single light source to make the subject "come alive." I hope you kept your distance from this guy! - JB

wonderful effect, however it appears out of focus due to the low lighting.
