I'm afraid this comes off as a snapshot, though a good one. Colors could use a little tweaking to give it some depth and oomph. Bringing out the texture and color in the cedar chips and the boy's jeans might give this some more visual appeal.

Cute kid! A more downward angle would eliminate the platform in the background and focus more on the boy.
