Wow! I'm stunned and flattered by the ribbon! I've been submitting for almost a year with an occasional decent showing, but I never imagined my first ribbon would be a blue. I'm also very surprised that it was this image. When I submitted I imagined it could be one of my lowest scores. What a pleasant surprise to watch the voting this week. Thank you all for the wonderful comments and feedback on this and all previous images. I learn more with each challenge!

Original Post:
These are giant fake flowers, about 3-4 feet long with flower heads about 10 inches across. They are inside a large round garbage can about 12-15 inches in diameter. My intent was that it would appear to have been shot from inside a normal vase. The large flowers and garbage can allowed me to get the camera with the 10-20mm lens inside (shot at 10mm), yet play with your perception of scale.

I have no idea how it will go over. I thought it was an interesting way to look out from an unusual "inside". The other circle in the frame is a light fixture on the ceiling. I should have gone for a more fancy chandelier but I didn't have the right set up for it. Lighting is natural window light.

Post Processing:

Camera Raw - exposure, blacks, clarity, vibrance, sharpen, noise reduction, white balance, saturation - desaturate all colors except those of the flowers.

CS3 - sharpen, curves, crop, add border, save for web

I like this perspective. Daisy colors are good & bold. Not sure about the light fixture on the ceiling - would have been better if it were centered with the vase opening IMHO. Still a great photo.
