 I found it VERY hard to get the shot I wanted- have to be a contortionist !!!

Your efforts were worth it. I love the colors and light and perspective. I don't mind the "blown" stem. It is very bright, but I still see details there. And it brings a certain amount of excitement to the image.

I know how hard this can be. Light is always a problem here, but I like the POV and the texture. Great idea of the mirror in the comments!

great shot pat .. love the details, the colours and the unusual pov .. the background colouring sets of the red tones in the mushroom very nicely .. :)

I agree with sulamk. The underside needs to be better illuminated. It looks like the flash blew out the stalk of the mushroom and the top.

The coloring and texture of the mushroom make it a great subject though.

Lovely shot! have you ever tried putting a mirror on the ground under the mushroom to reflect the unerpart!
