Beautiful image of this bird frozen in time like that. Although I would have liked to have a better look at his face I appreciate the moment caught from nature. My only nit is the whites of your bird aren't white at all. Upping the levels just a bit would have given this that extra punch appeal with a bright white bird coming out from the dark bg.
Wouldn't mind seeing this with a few minor adjustments after the voting. |

| Love the drape of the wings, and the light. And the composition, as I study it more. I'm even fine with the loss of detail in the dark areas, as it lends a sort of "into the unknown" feeling to his exit. |
