How did this get a 5.3? Nevermind. It is beautiful work.

This is awesome! The menacing crude face mural adds an extra special touch to something already beautifully wrenching...

The position of the body and use of crop really make this powerful and intriguing.

PostLuminous Award WINNER!
Luminous, textured, moody, dramatic--a wonderful standalone image, and a unique approach to the theme, as well.

I'm in love with this shot, but I still only gave it a 5. It's kind of hypocritical in a way, having trudged through so many static shots of buildings that have no emotional content whatsoever, but try as I might, I simply couldn't connect this to abandonment.

'tis my failure, I suppose.

I had a feeling I may have been missing something here. Can't believe it went over my head. Congratulations for the Posthumous Blue.

the anxiety expressed in the posture tells the entire story
I wish I would have voted, it would have received another 10

Armless girl abandoned by the third dimension. Must. Have. Ribbon.

I'm not sure this says abandonment to me, but it's a damn great image! Posed or not, very well captured and terrific processing.

Very cool. I'm not seeing a context where she's abandoned, but nonetheless, a very cool photograph.

I really love her stance and the way you've captured anonymity by chopping off the head ... The graffiti on the wall behind is in just the right place to add a touch of humour. Yes, this is excellent, even though I have to say it doesn't scream 'abandoned' to me, without the title tie in anyway. Highly rated.

I like the colors (or lack thereof) and the pattern of the bricks below her. Good setting. I'd like to see a version with her whole body included, I feel that a good facial expression could enhance the idea of being abandoned in this pic.
