dont know why but this reminds me of a modern day version of the opening scene of mel brooks' 'history of the world part I', or more patly, as colorcarnival suggested 'war of the worlds'. i think the the former being a spoof of the latter, bioth by orson wells

Not much to say about the editing, took it with a simple mini camera. the white balance was pretty bad, converted to bw and adjusted contrast

I swore I commented on this. Or perhaps I just thought I did. I did fav it already - it wouldn't let me do it again. This really is exceptionally good. Something I wish I'd taken.

Has the sense of a penultimate moment - right before emotion overtakes the scene - panic, fear, joy?

Makes me think of that scene from Close Encounters. GOOD STUFF

Reminds me of Russian cinema. Those guys are fomenting revolution, I betcha. The phallic statue represents either the tyranny they are fighting or the tyranny they dream of creating. Wait... a couple of them are getting a little too close for comfort...

mel brooks? uh no, I'm thinking more of an orson wells, "war of the worlds" type of thing. hehe. This is flippin cool, Panos. I love the silhouettes and the mist. I see all the people together and it makes me wonder what they are all doing and who they are interacting with. I like this new style you got going on :)

it has a very calssic feel, I could see it hanging on many walls to be admired. I think maybe because we have all walked at night and realized in the light ahead of us is the "scene" where everyone is hanging out enjoying the city.

As per my usual, as I am late in commenting I won't read others comments so forgive me if I am repeating what has already been said:

What a visual impact - I feel like I have gone back in time - everyting works ... the grain, the fog, the scattered figures... the sense that something is going to happen and I don't know if I want to be there when it does - wonderful shot, and great pp.

The foreground darkness leads into the eerie lurking figures and creates an interesting photo of mystery and intrigue.

Very mean and moody. Loving the grain and the dark shadows. (Side note: Guess you finally moved then!)

I like this just fine. And I hope it is teaching me something I haven't learned well enough - that suggestion is way more powerful than we imagine.

Love the silhouettes and the way the lights get diffused in the mist/fog. Great moody atmosphere.
