This is a tribute to the yellow ribbon winner of the first Mirrors challenge.

It's not as good. Selective Desat in basic editing SUCKS.

*post-challenge*

Yay! Eighth is good. Personal Best is better. For a little bit, I thought I might actually ribbon with this, but I'm glad I didn't even hit top 5. I'm entirely NOT happy with this shot.

I had a 10 minute window to shoot it in last Tuesday afternoon. The weather had been overcast ALL WEEK, without a peek of blue sky. Then, just as I'd given up hope, bing, the clouds opened up. I raced outside, slapped these makeshift mirror glasses on Andie, and bribed her with treats (she was missing Toy Story, forces of media forbid).

I had bad light, a grumpy model, and basic editing keeping from doing anything else right!

Soooooo, despite all that I'm ecstatic about the placing. My first top 10.

*EDIT* OH yes...

700 views during voting!?!?!?! WOAH.
I wonder if it was due to having to be validated?

I thought this was really cool. Gave it an 8. The big glasses really make the photo. Nice job.

I like the way the shot is set up and it really captures the essence of what the challenge (mirrored sunglasses) Though I would have like the shot better if there were no houses reflected in the glasses, but that is just my opinion.

Neat looking, and a fun idea. Sometimes you can manage this kind of partial desat in basic and it works great.

Edit to fix typo. (I'm a little anal about misspellings)

Priceless! how did you take out all the color but the sky even the house in the reflection or black and white?

Fantastic image, very creative. I find the 2 dust spots on the right mirror a little distracting.

I think this is a great picture that is well done. Not sure if it meets the "basic editing rules"

"you may: saturate, desaturate or change the colors of your entry, but no selections are allowed."

But I know some cameras have selective color captures- is that what you used?

Either way- well done.
