Camera Raw convertion, rotate, crop, shadow/highlight, curves, clone (sensor spots), NoiseNinja and USM in PS CS3.

Went out with a big mirror in my car and drove to a little old hut near my hometown Hafnarfjordur. When I arrived I took this rather heavy mirror out of the car and put it on the ground in front of the hut and took this shot. So this is a real mirror!

Thanks a lot for votes and helpful comments - it's much appreciated!

Very well composed and captured. The geometric shapes stand out awkwardly from mother nature's background. Lovely shot. Congrats.

Þessi kofi er mikið myndaður, hann er staðsettur á Hrauni rétt vestan við Straumsvík. Bestu þakkir!

Had me fooled as well. I should have taken more time to notice it wasn't water. Either way, you shared my highest vote. Congrats on your 3rd place finish.

very nicely done... I figured this was a mirror but you sold the illusion so well. Awesome clouds too. Congrats on the ribbon!

Fooled me! Since there were a number of other entries that DID use water reflections, it was a natural assumption that this was water, especially with your chosen title. I actually spent about 5 minutes examining this, trying to determine if it was a mirror or very still water. The edges were awfully straight, but the title kept saying "water".

A very cool shot, and I am really having to try and stretch my definition of a mirror to give this the high vote it ought to get. I'm afraid I have to give it a somewhat lower vote for now, though I may re-evaluate my thinking later on.

Added: After reading the discussions in the score thread, I went and looked up definitions of "mirror" from several sources. I did not consider a reflection in water to be a mirror. Several sources use that as a secondary definition, so I must now consider a reflection in water to be a creative interpretation. I think it only fair to reevaluate my original vote on this and give you some points back.

This is a nice image. The point of view and reflection made the image. Just that the contrast is a little lacking here...
