This is a Broken Light Bulb. I broke it and then set up my off camera flash to the left, triggered it remotely as I took the picture while turning on the lamp.

Great shot, but the light in the bottom is a little distracting, maybe a little more cropping would have helped here.

the brightness of the orange area is a bit ditracting for me.

good idea, but it looks like you just flicked teh switch for the bulb on and took the pic... you gotta flick it on and off VERY quickly and time yous shot exactly for that fraction of a second that the switch is on... then our element won't be so overexposed, otherwise nice shot
