Challenge: Puzzle Macro II (Advanced Editing VII*)
Camera: Nikon D300
Lens: Nikon MF 50mm f/1.4
Date: Nov 12, 2008
Aperture: Not sure!
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1.3
Galleries: Abstract, Macro
Date Uploaded: Nov 12, 2008

A small steel sink trap for a bathroom sink, placed on my laptop screen that was displaying a color wheel. I used my 50mm MF nikkor 1.4, inverted the lens on a inversion ring. Dang! That this sure has a narrow DOF!!!

Adjusted saturation, clarity, and vibrance prior to RAW conversion. Noise Ninja, hue/saturation, crop, minor clone to remove smudges on metal, minor dodge/burn to emphasize contrast, resize for web. Noise Ninja post resize, black border, USM.

Post Challenge: Thanks for all the comments and votes.

And one point on the depth of field - it is exactly as I wanted - wider DOF outtakes took away from the abstract feel I was attempting.

Talk about seeing beauty in the every day. Great colors, and yes, that dof is very shallow, but it obviously works quite well here.

A stumper, so meets the challenge. Love it. The 3D feeling is very good and dof is brilliant.
