Hello from critique club :)

Hi there. This is one of the masterpieces of photojournalism. Your low scoring (unfortunately) could be because of your post process? Some colors are not fitting well here, i can't figure it out

The emotion that flying from this photo really goes through my eyes to my heart. I love it.

Technically very good, composition very good. I actually like the way the kids is slightly to the left. Shoulder is completing the picture.

I never understood DPC, voting wise. I am not sure who and why those 1's 2's and 3's all about but you should not have anything less than 6 for this photo, for some hard-voters maybe 5 or lowest 4.

I would give you 9 if I did vote. And one more thing, I think this is the best kid photo you have on your first page, even better than the ribboner.

Keep up the good work,

Leo

I'm guessing this is one from Ethiopia? A natural heartbreaker. Probably the Blue. Good Luck!

This is almost Librodo/joeyL turf but the eyes are not quite right for those guys, however, it is a great emotive portrait and I suppose it will be up in the ranks come judgment day.

Just bumped this up to a 9. A very emotive shot with perfect focus and clarity. My only downside is that it feels a little muted colour-wise

truly. this image would be respond well to duotone treatment...

I would have converted this completely to a B & W or sepia instead of doing a partial desat. Powerful image, can be enhanced in post processing.

The hard question about this shot, do you make the processing "nice" or do you not? It could probably use a bit more PP, but the capture of his eyes is what really makes the shot. 7

the title seems too banal and suggestive for this kind of image, but i guess in your position i would have had the same trouble in finding an appropriate title.
anyways, it's a moving (if not for me heart breaking, but rather very raw and authentic) photograph, that depict a certain moment and emotion really well. it reminded me on the blue ribbon image of the movie titles challenge...
thanks for sharing it!
