I don't get it. The challenge seemed to me be one about barely holding on. would creat some type of anxiety. I don't get much of this feeling from this shot. Tech wise, the shot looks like a snap shot taken from a point and shoot.

no, no one is wondering why you are leaving. believe me

OMG another one.... Okay this is just for you ACTUAL THREAD SHOULD NOT BE USED The water is being held on by a CABLE a CABLE a steel piece of rope. a CABLE not a thread but a STEEL CABLE. do you get it now Skippy?

And people wonder why I'm leaving this site!

Take a picture of something that you could use the statement "That's hanging on by a thread". Actual thread should not be used.

Here let me spell it out for you okay. See the water bag? See that it's attached by a cable (cable could also be a string) See that it's hanging on to the helicopter? Note the word HANGING? If you put these two things together you have something like "Hanging by a Thread" Looks pretty friggin close to me as far as meeting the challenge don't you think? I really don't know why I even bother sometimes.

I'd love to see the comments you two made on more than 2/3 of the shots entered.

Good composition and the red stands out really well even on the crappy monitor i have at work.

Wow... what a timely capture for this challenge!

Nice action. Might help to crop a little off the left to help focus attention.

Like the diagonal line that the scene produces.

I think the photo would have been better with a much tighter crop, basically just the truck, the line of fire fighters and the smoky hill side. Of course this really wouldn’t have met the challenge. I like the selective saturation.

well, im not really like the connection to the challenge in this photo. i might have tried to get ahead of the line of firefighters and gotten a photo of them. i dont think the helicopter is enough of the main part of the photo to get a real connection

Stupid title ... but a great, dramatic, photo. Love the drama, enhanced by the composition and the diagonal comp. Real life DOES hang from a thread.

That was a real catch!

Great timing! The color from the line of fighters is so dramatic in this shot.
