This is so much more than your average tourist shot. That white stone face transforms this into a timeless history shot. Great WOW factor that is not immediately apparent from the thumbnail. |

First I saw this sea of humanity in a museum. Then I saw this huge white face looking out, and the whole scene was transformed. It's like the picture was grinning at itself... aw hell, who am I kidding, it was laughing at me! But good-natured laughter, I'm sure. Transformation, recognition and unrecognition, that's what separates this from a tourist snapshot. |

Love this Deb. Looks like there were some big tour groups there. |

The peeping head is great. It's as if he is amused with the commotion of the little people below... |

That giant head gives this a rather surreal quality, like I'm looking at a marble Wizard of Oz. Now I want to see the little man behind the statue ;-) |

The perspective you chose makes me feel as if I were part of the "exhibit" and I expect the crowd will soon turn to stare and point at my stone nose or headless body. It's a good thing you enjoy taking this type of photo because you are very good at it. |

huzzah! very well done for all the reasons everyone said. I did not notice the face until the end, though. I wonder what that means? |

This is so good! I love the giant face peeking out of the columns and the tiny people below... so insignificant. Your BW and contrast are delicioso! |

I love that the beautiful Roman nose is the first thing you notice in this picture! Even though I'm sure it's a man, it reminds me of my grandmother. ROFL! Excellent! |

Sweet. Quite a coup making the statue the humanizing element in an almost dauntingly impersonal scene. Most effective BW treatment as well as composition. |
