A reflection of a woman sitting facing me on a commuter train out of NYC. The white areas around the edge are the back of the seat directly in front of me (across from her) on the right and the window frame on the left. She had such a wonderful face, and I liked the framing and the fact that some of her face falls into shadow, making her a bit more mysterious. Not the right lens for a low light shot but in this case I like the noise. Contributes to the mood of the shot.

PP - converted from RAW, levels, straightened slightly, cropped, duotone, increased contrast, reduced noise, added border, resized.

A touching unguarded moment. I like the graininess.

I really like this...she seems to have her life in her head and an isolation from those around her comes out...The texture helps in this...

Mary, the processing is fantastic. I like the subtle hint of a dyscongugate gaze with that left eye drifting out. Full of emotion, somewhat creepy!

I figured it was a reflection, but it feels like I'm looking at a woman who's looking out the window. I love the extreme noise. Her face is terrific. I'm a little distracted by her pinkie. But look at those pearls on her wrist! Great!

Yes, a wonderful face. A little shred of time, deftly caught by you. The noise does not obscure interesting detail, & adds to the impact. The BW tones & general appearance remind me of those old-timey collodion photographs made directly on glass. I would never guess it was a reflection in window glass. Well done!

Wow, Mary! This is beautifully done. I really like the noise adding to the comtemplative mood.

I like this enormously. It kind of brings me home. (This is the third of 3 photos I have seen recently at DPC - Kolasi's entry here is one - where the less than ideal shooting conditions are better than ideal).
