This is where blur in an image really works, I adore this wonderful use of motion Vs Colour, done to perfection Rina

There will be one day at DPC that people will recognise the beauty inside an artistic image. Don t give up. Lovely

I gave this an 8! I just love blurry shots of birds - the effect gives them such life! Much more than freezing them in place, even if you can see every feather.

one of my 10's. rediculously overlooked and underrated by most.

I enjoy this as a abstract. The two background textures help quite a bit as well as the fade from gold to blue. 7

I like the different dynamic approach but think it is a bit too much, would have liked to see a bit more sharpness in the bird, especially the double beak I find disturbing.

I'm really wondering how this is doing in this challenge. I really really like it..much more than typical wildlife shots. It is exciting and peacefull at the same time! Bumping from 9 to 10.

This is just wow. Sure, I've seen great bird shots before, but I've never seen *this* bird shot before. Posthumous Blue Ribbon for you.

Blur doesn't work for me on most levels-- but, this is different in that there is just enough here that my mind fills in all of the gaps, or tries to. Looks like some panning along with the longer shutter speed. Effective image...likely to score middle of the pack and pick up some favs along the way. Cheers!

Love it! Love the motion blur.

The motion blur gives the bird a violent landing feeling. Like its going to be smashed to the ground for some reason. Neat photo.

much to love in this. Lovely colour palette, muted more by the blurring. The hint of the reflection in the water, the play of the warm and cool tones and still some detail in the wings and water drops. My favourite so far in this challenge.

This is almost like a painting! I'd say the person who shot this must have been on an impressionism course recently ;o) (not voting on this image btw) :o)

very emotive - as an abstract or impressionistic piece, this would make a great large print...

Interesting concept and colors, a diff twist to an ordinary shot, it seems the comp could have been a bit stronger though, nice work and idea, 9.

I sort of like the blur, but I would like the composition better if the bird wasn't so centered. (My daughter says she can't look at it because it makes her cross-eyed. But I'm the one whose scoring.) :)

this is a huge challenge, i would have expected more. then again, i am not a fan of abstract blur, if that's what you are going for here?

12/01/2008 11:02:03 AM
I don't like the centeredness (horizontally), but I do like the effect achieved in this.
