 A client's dog. Backlit in strong sunshine and he's black and white to boot, so fill flash was most helpful in getting Moe properly exposed. Partially desat to bring out his eyes, which I liked because of the color echo in the leaves in the background.

PP - converted from RAW, cropped, levels, decreased saturation on all but orangey-red, increased contrast, added border, resized, sharpened.

I really like this photo - the textures and tones are wonderful. It looks as if its more backlit than fill flash but I'm new to all this and may be way off the mark. Good shot regardless.

I like the compositional decision to have the dog split the background between the upright repeating pattern on our right and the open area on the left. Backlighting highlights work well on the fur, and the fill light is done just right.

The selective color on this is PHENOMENAL!!!! I adore this shot, and this fella's "cowlicks" :-)

what a cute dog! nice job balancing the sunlight with the flash ... love the bokeh in the background, matches his eyes nicely!
