there were better shots of the same concept in this contest. This was the first of them that I saw, and to be honest, I didn't even notice the heart shadow until I went back a second time to look - I wish the shadow shape had been sharper and more clear. Also -- I didn't really find the text all that relevant to the photo, i thought the hotel for a honeymoon was a bit of a stretch... or maybe you're taking off your ring to go spend the night in a hotel with your mistress? kind of adds an ironic twist to the photo which I don't think was intended...

Honestly, is this the best book you could find to do this? This is yet another photographic cliche and they can be effective if you do them well. I've seen this picture done 1000 times, never in a travel guide. I reckon that makes it original. Not effective, but original.

I like the effect of the ring, but maybe a better book or surface could've helped the shot.

Lots of this theme in this challenge, but I suppose it's a natural pick. You could have picked a more fitting book to put it in and it isn't as sharp as the others.

a bit out of focus, and perhaps a different choice of background than the phonebook would have been appropriate

very nice...would have like to have seen this done with Scripture such as the love chapter or Song of Solomon rather than this text. gave a 9..would be 10 with Scripture

Interesting use of shadow, though (and I could just be nit picking here) you have chosen to keep the text clear, so it would better if it was something relevant to the subject, rather than what I assume is a phone directory.

I can't help but smile at your choice of a book to use on this shot. Is it significant to you? ;)

cliche shot, not bad. Would be nicer if you converted to B&W and you couldnt see the light. There's also no play with the DOF either.

Even though I've seen this used before it still works. I have it in mind that it would be better on a bible.

Nice job with the shadow! I did a very similar picture, I guess great minds think alike! My one suggestion would be to use a more appropriate book like a Bible with a verse about love or a poetry book rather than book of lodging...
