Finally getting around to finishing comments for the Dec. Side Challenge:-)
You have some beautiful rich color tones in this food composition. Good lighting shows off those deep rich chocolate browns that pop off the white plate. A black plate would not have allowed the rich hues of the browns nor the deep rich reds of the cherries to pop visually. Nice sharp focus shows us some wonderful details. My only critique is that the whipped cream on the top of the dessert looks like a shapeless mass - something I found out whipped cream does is very quickly lose it's shape with heat from lights or sunlight. The solution?: You fake it by using another material:-) Classic Soda Shoppe Banana Split The whipped cream is really white cake icing:-) Other than the whipped cream topping this is a great food shot - could appear in a food magazine. |

White plate works just fine for this, and this looks incredibly good! Hopefully you ate the rest of it after you finished shooting. |

Gosh, the rattling, banging noise you hear is ME at your front door! This looks so delicious (& the description is wonderful). The white plate is OK with me. |

Roz was just walking past me as I was viewing this image...I said 'have a go at this - isn't it an incredible shot of the cherries' - from about 3 metres way she said 'that looks like one of Hajeka's shots - they're just bloody brilliant'
Mate, I couldn't agree more. Just bloody brilliant. |

I don't know if the black plate would have been a better choice - seems pretty nicely offset by the white plate, here. Very tasty-looking! |

That looks like a high end cooking magazine cover. Terrific focus and the rich deep red is my absolute favorite color. |
