I started off using the two dice on a reflecting surface which looked fine but pretty boring on their own. I said to my husband "I need fire". He bravely nodded and asked if I needed any help. I didn't ;-)
Used lighter fuel for the flames and completely burned the first two dice. The plastic really stank. If you look closely, you can see one of the dice in the photo is also turning brown at the front. Lucky I had six dice.
I wanted a LOT of fire behind the dice and it took many tries. Lighter fuel stinks too.
Used my two flashes for lighting, one at each side.
Had to send in the original to be verified during voting which surprised me.
Thanks loads for the comments and the score.
I have to tell you something: I originally intended entering Unlucky and did this for it

(it's my hand in the sink).
My husband was appalled and said it was completely macabre. He felt so strongly about it, I decided to try something else. I’m glad now that I did.
Thanks so much for the ribbon!

It was a sheet of glass but it definitely looked the worse for wear afterwards.

another hint when using fire...mix half rubbing alcohol and half water...burns without burning the surface. for real! try it with a tissue.

Well at least you didn't burn down the house or your village.
Was it done indoors or outside?

Great concept and execution. The whole thing works for me, maybe just cropped a little tighter on the right - that empty black space seems sudden and awkward.

shame the reflection of the dice on the right is much darker than that on the left. Everything else about this is very good. 8

I really like this shot especially what appears to be a liquid ripple at the base of the right hand dice.
If you are able would you PM me please to let me kmow if you used a flash as I'm struggling to capture flame and you've done a great job here.
