Not expecting anything from this image ... it was a test shot of sorts. Just got a new Panasonic Lumix LX-3, and did some quick shots at breakfast this morning to check it out. Shot in RAW, then figured out that LR 1.4 wouldn't support the Lumix so had to try to process it in SilkyPix (the Panasonic processor that came with the camera). Surprised at how grainy the original was, even at ISO 125 though in low light. Did some hit and miss processing in SilkyPix, then imported a tiff to LR and used one of the image presets going for a vintage advertising feel, then some heavy Noise Ninja and sharpening.

Probably shouldn't enter this, but getting back to my DPC roots here. I originally joined to force myself to shoot with, and learn how to better use, my DSLR. Now I'm going to do the same with my point and shoot, which I hope to use as an effective add on tool to my DSLR travel kit. I expect to have a lot of fits and starts, and low scores, as I begin this experiment.

Dennis, sorry to be so long in handing out the comments, but sometimes you just run short on time.

I have no idea why this didn't do better with the voters, I thought it had a wonderful down home feel to the shot and the sepia tones added just the right touch of nostalgia.

I thought your subject matter was great the lighting was spot on and the composition worked well, I scored it a 7.

IMHO you were robbed.

All the best to you and yours.

MAX!

I liked this one. I thought the use of the cereal was clever. Also, your processing was great at making this look like a TV commercial. Voters can't see past the clean and crisp I guess.

I gave it a 6. I was apparently of the minority who saw the vintage advertising look you were going for. Don't underrate that compact Lumix. 3 out of my 5 top scoring entries were done with my Powershot S5.

Wow, that brought back some memories! It really looks like an old TV - nice!

This looks a bit distorted. And really not flattering.

Give her a 10. She hates everything!

Good candid, but it seems a bit too over-exposed and the model doesn't seem seem comfortable.

harsh back light ruins this one. :( Cute idea and coloring.

Like the PP'ing done here. Gives it that old tv feel to it. The light behind her is so bright, might have been better if the curtain was drawn.

I think your desaturated tones work well here.

Pixelated and blown out in places, but I think your intention was to make this look like a shot off of a TV. If that was the look you were going for, you pulled it off well.
