 Alpenglow long wavelength light touches snow-capped Ypsilon Mountain. The daylight begins. No increase in saturation or vibrancy from RAW format image.

The sun peeking over the horizon from 500 miles away is rather abrupt. The light passing through 500 miles of atmosphere filters out all but the long wavelength reddish and pinkish light. This is a common phenomenon at high altitudes, but is met with much skepticism by those who live in cities and flat land.

Nice. I love the blue sky with the golden/red tint on the fog- it just screams daybreak. Could have possible cropped a bit more off of the top and bottom (maybe knocked out the white at the bottom right so there's more contrast from the shadow to the main subject). Very cool capture (literally!... budum dum chingggg- bad pun- sorry).
