Wow!!!! Thank you for all you votes and comments! I never thought this would finish in top three! Wow!!!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

The idea: timfythetoo gets the credit; his profile picture gave me this idea, thanks timfythetoo!

The setup: borrow one family picture frame from the wall, trace puzzles pieces on the glass with a black dry erase marker, hide remote control in my right hand, attempt a pose.

The processing: convert from RAW, crop, saturate greens and yellows colors, smart sharpen, take out favourite Wacom tablet and pencil and darken the puzzle pieces, increase brightness and contrast on the eyes and finally apply selective B&W for background.

Ooh, this is cool! I would love to do something like this sometime. The color vs b&w really pops. Will come back after the voting to read your technique, hope you will post it!

Ahh, selective desaturation in all its unappealing, gimicky glory. Lot of bizarre elements in this shot and, despite the desat, an engaging and well done image!

Great idea ( I see someone else had the same idea also) Nicely executed. You might have considered leaving a few pieces of the puzzle out for more effect (the missing pieces so to speak) I like the combination of B&W with color here and the background is interesting too. Not too keen on the angled frame as I feel it sort of unbalances the total image. 8

the jig saw pattern is a little heavy handed but otherwise very effective

Creative and interesting. Selective desaturation looks good. Appropriate expression for the occasion. 8

A top finisher for sure. Wonderful use of selective desat. Very cool cutout, interesting composition, love the frame tilt with the head. To be really picky, the lamp or plant or whatever in the upper left corner is distracting, as is the area between the thumb and t-shirt on the right. All this work on the subject, and a distracting background. Tsk tsk. Still, love it.
