Well the way I shoot these is to run in one direction and of course, Sofia has to be in front so she runs ahead and I stop, run the other way and call her. She usually runs at me full tilt and I snap off the photos. sometimes she keeps running ahead and and on Saturday she disappeared to chase rabbits for 20 Minutes....by the time I located her the light was gone so I had to return on Monday....(rain on Sunday...)I know I'm really milking the dog for photos recently but I wanted a shot like this.

I love this photo! I used to have a German Short-haired pointer and he was an incredible dog. This picture reminds me of him a lot. I miss him!

THIS IS AWESOME ..!!
a fantastic action shot and a fantastic subject ... it can take quite a few shots to get one that's just right .. with our little katee, if the focus is exactly where you want it then her mouth's all skew .. or you get the back legs and not the eyes in focus .. they run so fast .. i'm not sure how fast your camera can focus with that lens but you've got the most brilliant shot here .. her concentration is excellent .. love the way her legs are placed .. the front ones showing speed and the back ones make me laugh .. she's a beautiful looking animal and very very photogenic .. :)

Looks like his/her rear legs are going to arrive first! Maybe just a bit more room around the subject and I think the long lens really compresses things to much. I really like the focus of his/her eyes.

Nice shot. I like the capture of the ears pinned back indicating the speed of the action.

Awesome! Reminds me of a neighborhood dog we had when I was a kid. He "talked" a lot (moaning and howling and such). My dad said he was so smart he could talk and so named him "Plato" after the Greek Philosopher. We called him "Plato, the talking dog."
