| I'm guessing that you might receive some comments not liking the shadows in the eyes. I think it adds drama to an already emotionally charged image. I don't give out many 10's, but you get one from me. Great portrait that invokes a story... |

| I like the concept but feel the image is a bit dark. I would have like to been able to see more of his eyes or atleast the left eye to have eye contact that is needed in this photograph since he seems to be rugged and stern. |

| Such a POWERFUL image! If you haven't been told this already by 100s of photographers on DPC and else where, then 'you have a bright future in photography!' Amazing tonal range, incredible use of B&W...what more can I say? My first real contender for the front page, best of luck. :) 10 and Fav from me. |

The hollow eyes and graffiti background really bring home the mood.The lighting and tonal range - spot on. It's a bit staged, but works beautifully. I really like this very much. 9 |

| Shame there is not more light on the eyes to REALLY showcase that angry and defiant stare. Absolutely love the stance of this boy, fists clenched ready to lash out. The air is thick with angry energy that radiates not just from this seven year olds stance but the glaring stare he levels at the viewer as we/I look upon the scene. What made him angry we wonder. The graffiti in the backdrop is perfect for one can see it as symbolic or representive of angry youth out there that utilize their anger in one form of defacing public property or worse...gangs to get a sense of belonging. But back to the main subject, the emotion is very strong and comes across to me as very palpable. The B&W tones are very dynamic and wonderfully done. Well captured! |

Great photograph with an emotional impact!
I like the concept and the intensity.
I would like maybe just a hint of light, just a spark, from his eyes. Not enough to fill the eye socket, but something to bring out even more of the intensity carried by the pose. (9 for the moment, but perhaps a 10) |
