Not my best, but one I have access to that i really like. Of course, I can already see the 4.8 score now. Ah well.

title is from my favorite Wallace Stevens poem. Birds are amazing. Watch them for a while - you may grow to love them like I do.

levels, curves, sharpen, save for web.

Wow. I am rather surprised by my score.
I forgot to add that I healed some spots out of the image - it was misting and I had a couple drops of water on the lens.
Innuendoes can be spelled with and without the 'e.' Personal taste I guess.
An innuendo is "an indirect intimation about a person or thing" usually but not always derogatory. an indirect suggestion, a hint...
There is beauty in the silence of a bird in flight, the seeming effortlessness with which they get from here to there - like the spaces in a poem - the non-words if you will. This bird, for me, show the enjambment at the end of a line, the space where you pause, just for a second, before going on to the next - much like the bird is doing.

This is breathtaking - literally. I could not put it into words, so I thank you for doing it for me. And I thank you for sharing the photograph as well.

It does not surprise me that this is your photo Courtenay, you have the soul of an artist and the eye of a master - you have a true gift. My thought is this photo should be on the front page with a big fat blue ribbon next to it, but my thoughts are muddled and goofed, like cereal that's been in the bowl too long.

Anyway - exceptional art from an exceptional artist.

Love the high-key and the composition!
But the best of all is the posture of the bird that you have captured - almost a free-flowing drawing by a dexterous hand!

10.

This is such a wonderful image. The x shape of the wings and tail feathers, the touch of color from the legs. Isolating the bird with a blank background really makes this very special.

One of the few bird shots I really really like. This is awesome. I'm assuming the background was a dull sky and it was dodged? Regardless, it's a well composed shot!
