| Civil war re-enactment. You've done a great job of capturing the smoke, (or fog), and the sense of period. It could have looked just this way when it happened back in the mid 1800's. |

| Great composition here to have the two lines of soldiers on the horizontal thirds with the muted sky and mist (smoke) adding atmosphere. Also a great piece of timing to get the mouted group arriving and interacting with the foot soldiers. Lots to enjoy here. |

| Very rare chance to get this. The photo captured the action and emotion. This could have been the actual action at the battle. Dare say the battle was more disoriented with fast events in the middle of the battle. Excellent! 10 in my book. One other comment, the flags are nice. |

| The smoke gives some awesome dimension and feel to this. My Flickr meetup group attended a WWII reenactment last year. Some of the participants liked what we posted and we got invited to be part of the action as "war correspondents" for the next one. I expect to get some great action shots the next time. |

| I've been to one of these. They're amazing. As is this shot. This looks like a classic painting. The tones, the poses, the way the horses and soldiers are spread out all over the landscape, the smoke from the gunshots. That central tree is a real anchor, and with the two flags, creates a pleasing triangle. Fabulous shot. |

I love the smokey battlefield and the clusters of soldiers in the foreground and the background. With all the haze though, the soldiers don't stand out quite as much as I'd like.. Maybe playing with the contrast and levels could fix that.
Also a shot of just the people in the foreground that are in the center of the shot (with the guy leaning over talking to the people walking by, and the guy on the end of their group with the flag) would have been cool too. That moment is what really draws me in to this shot. |

| The centered tree is almost symbolic to provide the "division" that existed between the two sides. A very good moody picture - the mist/smoke really enhances this. |
