OhMY! This has to be one of the most fabulous bee photos I've ever seen. In flight! I bet I've taken 2,000 tries of bees in flight with my macro lens and all I get is a dull, blurry mess. Bravo!!! You could not have done better!

i wonder how long you were waiting for this brilliant shot owen .. ??!!!
i just dont have the patience for setting up a tripod especially if there arent that many bees around ... like three days later and i'd still be there waiting .. lol ..
it really is an amazing photograph .. i doubt it could be improved upon in any way .. everything is perfect ..
and its interesting too . the pollen is white instead of yellow or green like around here .. must be that's he's been on white flowers .. ?? .. i havent studies flowers that much to know .. but i'v only noticed yellow and green pollen on the bees around where i live ..
anyway .. macros of insects who definitely have minds of their own (altho not with huge intellects!!) arent the easiest things to photograph well .. you've done a scorcher here .. :)

So nice and sharp! Incredible detail on this. I'm curious about what gear and settings you had to use to snag such a clear and detailed shot.

nice and crisp. Wish you had post processed in a different manner, the flash lighting just a tad too recognizable. 7
