1st match entry in DPC, hope it does not crash & burn !!

Lit with my pair of Nikon R1C1 macro flashes
1 on the left (at the same level as the head of matchstick) , one on the right pointing above the head of the matchstick.
Both flashes were set to expose at -1.3eV
Used my Nikkor 105mm micro with a full set of extention tubes, manually focus on the matchstick head.
Thats it , lit the match and triggered the shutter release in parallel.
Went through 6 matchsticks to get the shot.

Hope I can break 6 again with this shot.

Great job Andrew! This is better then most of the match shots I have ever seen on here. The fact that you used real macro equipment and lit it properly makes a world of difference. You can see the burning material on the match head and the detail in the match stick. :)

You did it! Caught combustion sharply on camera.

the framing is just too close, while the detail of the match head is nice, I'm missing the drama of the swirl of flame and smoke.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets some graining when trying this type of shot.
Very nicely done.

I like this capture over the other match subjects as the definition of the sulfur and the matchstick are very defined. Well done

Really nice image with alot of good detail in the match. Staying so close to the flame I hope you didn´t burn your lens. The only thing that bothers me is the blue and purple stuff in the upper left corner.
