Yup, a do over is needed. But to achieve notoriety (brown ribbon etc.) is fun too. You have the last laugh. It's absolutely brilliant.

Just found this at the bottom of the heap. I was one of the 19 who scored this better-than-5. I was shocked to see it in the brown ribbon slot. I mean, I can understand it not finishing especially well, but *last place*? Ah, well, so it goes... *I* liked it :-)

I'm glad you've connected with some here on this photo, and kudos to you for being daring. :-)

Alas, a victim of the two second vote - blurry, grainy shot. 3. next.
This is an absolutely awesome shot. I truly did not get it either, until I read the comment about the face. Face? What face? After about 30 seconds, it dawned on me - oh - *that* face! The different orientation for the face adds to the time required for recognition (at least for me). Wonderful blending of tones in flowers with skin color. I also think the uncalibrated monitors out there hurt you too (mine included).

Would be hard to improve on this one (thinking of those darned silly re-shoot a Brown challenges).

The best brown ever, surely? I thought it was quite lovely. I had wondered if my score of 9 was unreasonably niggardly. Alas, it was.

I don't get the voting here, it is just plain stupid. This photograph overgrown DPC.

One of the great browns. Less staring might be needed if this were a wall-sized poster...

I never saw the face until now. I wish I had while I was voting...

Very emotional, sad. Is this a pinhole? If so, it may be the highest scoring yet.

I'm not sure what to make of this or how to score it really. This is one of the rare times where I'm not going to vote.

Hmmmm...really dark and blurry...could it be a pinhole or zoneplate shot?

It's a bold photograph. Sideways orientation makes it initially harder to recognize, but then as the viewer grows more comfortable it seems to become more reflective, which is just right for the sentiment in the title. Like transport to another place and time. I am a big fan of ambiguity and uncertainty, because it seems to oblige the viewer to make some effort. To meet you half way. The hints of scrappy flowers are both disguise and motivation in this photograph. So, all in all, I like it very much. 9.

Not quite sure what this is, it's a bit dark and blurry for me to tell.

this photo stunned me as I came across it. At first, it just looks like fuzz, then the face and flowers come into view. Very appropriate.

This photo has actually made me cry. I am sitting viewing it with tears pouring down my cheeks. Thank you.
Edit, I am now viewing this on my horrible work monitor - I can not make out the face at all! No change to my vote of 10, as I only ever vote based on my home monitor.

Hmmm. Makes you wonder. Trying to understand the title with the shot.

Very sad. Like the muted colors and lighting. Adds to the melancholy.
