 Taking shots of the city when this huge guy flew out of nowhere... luckily Kim was there to point him out as I was concentrating on the skyline.

I enjoyed the unusual juxtaposition (and potential metaphor) of this turkey vulture with the new york back drop (that's the empire state building there...)

Great capture! this should have been up much higher.

I remember seeing a documentary about this bird in NYC (it might have been another predator though). They hunt pigeons and rats in cental park

Classic! Great capture. I've seen hawks in NY but not feathered vultures! Great dof, awesome that you got the Empire State Building in the background.

A difficult shot against the light - a good attempt. Unfortunately, the overly bleached out background just accentuates the black body and much like a black faced dog against a light background you lose detail.
