Pre-challenge notes:
A postcard from a roadside sight. I think I captured the look of I wanted well. Probably won't get a score worth the time I put into this. Probably good for a low to mid 5, but a high 4 won't surprise me either. (I expect the challenge winners will be the sort of landscapes that normally do well, but with a postcard treatment applied.)

By the way, this is the real name of the town.

An expected critique of this entry will be the harsh midday sun in this shot. Might also get some accusation of an overprocessed appearance, but I actually achieved the look I was shooting for.

Post-challenge notes:
I guess I succeeded in reproducing the look of a postcard from a roadside sight, as this came in quite a bit higher than I anticipated. Only one comment gave me the feedback that I really expected on this. I think the processing was appropriate for the subject, but would have bombed in any other challenge.

Nobody seems to have noticed his injured left hand. My official explanation is that he hurt it while bull riding.

This is awesome. I love stupid things like this. Have you ever gone to Car Henge? It's a few hours north-north east of where I live. Also, when I was driving around New Zealand you'd find giant junk all over the place. Great stuff.

This shot rocks!
It actually is a very "postcardy" looking shot, and a good find for the way you wanted it to come across. It reminds me of the 1960's for some reason.

it's an ok shot, IMO the person don't need to be there JMO.

And the man probably thinks he's reasonably dressed! Warning people to stay away is a secondary function of postcards.

Yes, I would be enticed to go see the rocking chair if I got this postcard. I like the cowboy in the foreground, gives it scale. Nice composition. Good use of the sky for the text. Nice postcard, well done.

A good solid commercial image. The font is appropriate although I would have used a different color. The image seems a little out of focus and the colors are overly saturated - you can't really tell what the red sign says unless you really squint and look closely. It does as intended and that's a plus.
