 I did so much to this it would take too long to list all of the steps specifically. In a nutshell, I copied the flower bud once at full opacity and then a couple times at lower opacity, just to fill up the image a bit more. I added grasses, stems, words, ink splatters and butterfly using photoshop brushes. Then I ran the ambience filter from Virtual Photographer and blended it with the original. Used a couple of layers from paintingwithbrushes on flickr, then blended in a layer that had Color Efex Pro tonal contrast applied and one with Color Efex Pro midnight filter applied (mixed by varying the opacity).

That did take you all night to explain! And well worth it. I'll be running off to paintingwithbrushes to steal some layers shorty. Your creativity always astounds me and this is no exception. This has the feel of a painting on wax paper with candle wax spilled on top. Very powerful texture and depth. Lovely.
